Program Evaluations

In an ongoing effort to produce the highest quality educational experiences, the Ashbrook Center routinely evaluates the effectiveness of our programs. Below are the results of three extensive and independent evaluations.

The Ashbrook Center at Ashland University offers both an on-campus summer residential offering as well as a hybrid online offering for teachers in the Master of Arts in American History and Government (MAHG) degree program. In order to compare the on-campus and online course experiences of students and instructors, an independent online course evaluation was conducted. Special emphasis was placed on analyzing the extent to which the unique teaching and learning dynamics of the on-campus Ashbrook Center’s MAHG program are integrated into the online course format.

TAH.org’s Presidential Academy, which ran from 2006 through 2011, was the subject of an extensive research study, prepared on behalf of the United States Department of Education. The entire study and its findings can be read by downloading the Presidential Academy Evaluation, which assesses the documents, instructional strategies, and learning outcomes of the program.

TAH.org’s Congressional Academy, which ran from 2008 through 2011 for rising high school students in their junior year, was also the subject of an extensive research study, prepared for the U.S. Department of Education. The entire study and its findings can be read by downloading the Congressional Academy Evaluation which assesses the documents, instructional strategies, and learning outcomes of the program.
