This co-sponsored colloquium proposes to explore the Federalist Papers’ rationale for the distribution of liberty, power, and responsibility within the United States Constitution. Discussions would evaluate the arguments of Publius regarding federalism, separation and division of powers, the sources and purposes of power for the separate branches of government, the principle of representation, and the purpose and nature of politics.
