One-Day Seminar: Civil Rights – Speeches and Leaders hosted by Phoenix Union High School District (Phoenix, AZ)

January 25, 2018, 8:20 am to 2:45 pm

Dig deeply into the ideas of the Civil Rights Movement through the words of its thinkers and leaders. Drawing from speeches and writings from across the decades, this Seminar will help you better understand what they meant, their arguments, and how their words were received at the time. This Seminar would be great for both History and English teachers, given its focus on language and the power of words.

Discussion Leader: Peter Myers, Professor of Political Science, University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire
