One-Day Seminar: Civil Rights – Speeches and Leaders – hosted by Sandia Preparatory School (Albuquerque, NM)

November 8 @ 8:20 am - 2:45 pm

Dig deeply into the ideas of the Civil Rights Movement through the words of its thinkers and leaders. Drawing from speeches and writings from across the decades, this Seminar will help you better understand what they meant, their arguments, and how their words were received at the time. This Seminar would be great for both History and English teachers, given its focus on language and the power of words.

All registrants will receive a printed copy of the documents reader, by mail, in advance of the program. Access to digital copies is below. Teachers will also receive a continuing education certificate for the hours spent in the program.

Discussion Leader: Peter Myers, University of Wisconsin – Eau Claire
