One Day Seminar: Lincoln and Reconstruction, hosted by Austin ISD (Austin, TX)

February 12, 2019 @ 8:00 am - 3:00 pm

Learn about the challenge and complexity Abraham Lincoln faced as he assessed the possibilities for a reconstructed Union before, during, and after the Civil War in this day-long Seminar on the topic. Primary documents will include those from Lincoln and others before the war, as they clarify their views on slavery and how it should be dealt with, as well as readings produced during the war, as Lincoln’s views on his legal and constitutional options changed as the war progressed.

Teachers will receive a printed copy of the documents reader in advance of the program, and can get access to the reader and agenda in PDF format after 1 January here. All teachers are welcome, and will be provided with a certificate for continuing education hours.
