One-Day Seminar: Abraham Lincoln: Philosopher and Statesman hosted by TeachingAmericanHistory.org & North West Florida Region (Held Online)

What constitutes Lincoln’s political greatness? How does statesmanship differ from other kinds of leadership? What is Lincoln’s philosophical statesmanship? How does it combine qualities of both intellect and character? This seminar will focus on Lincoln as a Philosopher and Statesmanship.
This program will be conducted as a Socratic discussion, utilizing primary source documents as the only readings (found here), and with the Discussion Leader facilitating the conversation, instead of lecturing or presenting. Registrants, therefore, are highly encouraged to read all the documents in advance and come ready with questions. All attendees will receive a Letter of Attendance at the end of the seminar.
