One-Day Seminar: “Documents and Debates: Dropping the Atomic Bombs” hosted by Phoenix Union High School District (Phoenix, AZ)
January 30 @ 8:00 am - 3:00 pm
The controversy over the use of atomic weapons in World War II did not begin after Hiroshima and Nagasaki were destroyed; rather, a debate raged within the Truman administration and related scientific community before the weapons were deployed in August 1945. Get inside the terms of that debate using original documents from the major camps in order to see – as best as possible – the debate and issues through their eyes.
Lunch will be provided at this free program, as well as a certificate for continuing education. All registrants will receive a copy of the reader, on paper, in advance of the program; and digital copies will be available here after early December 2019. Click here to register.
