One-Day Seminar: Fragment On Constitution and Union – A. Lincoln hosted by Knox County, TN School District (Held Online)
August 3 @ 12:55 pm - 2:30 pm
Nestled among the complete speeches and writings of Abraham Lincoln are several fragments, or brief notes, that represent Lincoln’s thoughts on a variety of issues. This particular fragment expresses what must have been on Lincoln’s mind as the nation stood on the precipice of Civil War.
This program will be conducted as a Socratic discussion, utilizing primary source documents as the only readings (found here), and with the Discussion Leader facilitating the conversation, instead of lecturing or presenting. Registrants, therefore, are highly encouraged to read all the documents in advance and come ready with questions. All attendees will receive a Letter of Attendance at the end of the seminar.
