One-Day Seminar: LBJ and Vietnam, hosted by the USS Midway Museum (San Diego, CA)
April 3 @ 7:30 am - 2:00 pm
How did the United States get involved in the conflict in Vietnam? When did this involvement escalate, and for what reasons? How did LBJ – who became president after JFK’s assassination and had spent most of his political career focusing on social issues – react to these events and shape them? Dig deeply into these questions and others using a diverse set of original documents, including previously-classified internal White House meeting minutes and Defense Department memos.
All attendees of this free Seminar will be provided with lunch, a certificate for continuing education and digital and paper copies of the agenda and documents reader. This program will also include a special tour of the USS Midway, conducted before the museum opens to the public. Access digital copies of program materials here after 1 FEB.
Arrival time for this program is 7:45am.
