One-Day Seminar: Progressives and Populism hosted by the Ashbrook Center (Ashland, OH)

November 9 @ 9:30 am - 2:30 pm

Often understood simply as opposition parties, the Populist and Progressive movements developed in response to the genuine challenges of industrialization, immigration, and urbanization in the late nineteenth century. Jason Jividen of St. Vincent College will facilitate a discussion of the similarities and differences between populists and progressives, the programs each group advocated, and the legacy of both groups in United States history, government and politics.
