One-Day Seminar: “Slavery and the Constitution” hosted by Alpine School District (Salt Lake City, UT)
February 21, 2020 @ 8:00 am - 2:00 pm
To what extent did the Founders imbue the Constitution with protections for, or structures that stood against the institution of slavery? Was, at its core, the Constitution an anti-slavery document, as Frederick Douglass saw it, or the means to forever enshrine the slavery in American society and government? Study in depth these questions and more through a diverse collection of original documents in a seminar setting.
Lunch will be provided at this free program, as well as a certificate for continuing education. All registrants will receive a copy of the reader, on paper, in advance of the program; and digital copies will be available here after early January 2020. Click here to register.
