One-Day Seminar: Slavery and the Constitution, hosted by St. Thomas High School (Houston, TX)

October 7 @ 8:00 am - 2:30 pm

Study deeply the problem of slavery within the context of the Constitutional Convention, the Constitution itself, and other seminal American political documents. Was the Constitution, as written, a pro- or anti-slavery document? What it neither? Study the ideas of those who shaped the Constitution, and those who interpreted it during the first half of the 19th Century, and come to your own conclusion.

Access digital copies of program materials here. Paper copies will be mailed in late August to all registrants. Lunch will be off-site, on your own for this program. All attendees will receive a certificate for continuing education, and TAH is a TX-certified provider of professional development

This program was originally set to take place on 23 SEP but has been rescheduled to 7 OCT – same place; same topic; everything else is the same but the date, and registration is still open.
