One-Day Seminar: The American Presidency hosted by the Concourse Hotel (Madison, WI)
March 14 @ 8:30 am - 3:00 pm
This seminar will examine the evolution of the presidency from the drafting of the Constitution through the progressive revolution of the 20th century. The language in Article II of the Constitution, which “vests” the executive power in a President of the United States, is somewhat ambiguous as to the scope and breadth of that power. Thomas Jefferson, Andrew Jackson, and their progressive successors removed some of this ambiguity and set many precedents which are followed to this day. This course focuses on how these presidents molded the office and influenced the political life of the entire nation, for better or worse.
Registration opens at 8:30 am
