What’s New at Teaching American History – Documents

November 12, 2019

by Sarah Morgan Smith

Did you know that as part of the Teaching American History community, you’re just a few clicks away from our collection of over 2500 historical documents and your own personalized dashboard? These documents give you and your students direct access to the words and thoughts of those who shaped America’s story.

To help you find and use these texts, the Documents section of our website features an interactive timeline, edited collections equipped with notes and study questions, and a document search tool to filter documents by:

  • Keyword and Title
  • Authors
  • Genre (Speech, Telegram, Court Case, etc.)
  • Themes (Government, Foreign Policy, Presidency, etc.)
  • Eras (from Discovery and Settlement to the Present)

Most exciting of all, as a TAH member, you can now select documents from our online library and create personalized collections to use in your own classroom. Save, download and print your collections, right from your dashboard.

Bookmark this brief Quick Start Guide that will walk you through how to create your own collections:

Thank you for being a part of our community! Please send us an email if you have any questions. We’d love to connect with you.
