Elizabeth R. Osborn is Director of Education at the Indiana University Center on Representative Government. She leads the development of award-winning, free civics interactives, including Engaging Congress, Freedom Summer 1964, CitizIN, and Action Citizen.
Dr. Osborn currently directs a dynamic, Department of Defense–funded team developing Democracy Quest, a virtual reality civics and history experience. She earned her Ph.D. in U.S. History from Indiana University in 2004; her dissertation examines culture, gender, and constitution-making in antebellum Indiana, Kentucky, and Ohio. Before joining the Center, Dr. Osborn founded the Indiana Supreme Court’s nationally recognized education program, Courts in the Classroom. She has taught at Indiana University, served as a teaching consultant, and taught high school social studies in Hawaii.
