One Day Seminars for Your District

Our California one-day seminars are designed to support teachers as they implement Ethnic Studies courses aligned with state requirements while remaining grounded in historical inquiry.

Each seminar is:

  • Focused on Ethnic Studies–relevant content
  • Built around primary source documents
  • Conducted through small-group, discussion-based learning
  • Led by a scholar of American history or government
  • Customized to your district’s needs

Teaching American History provides access to 3,000+ primary source documents, many curated into thematic collections to support Ethnic Studies instruction.

California Weekend Seminars

Teaching American History also hosts special California-focused Weekend Seminars on Ethnic Studies topics.

These seminars:

  • Takes place over two days
  • Include extended scholarly discussion
  • Feature a related historic site visit

Are application-based, with preference given to California educators
