This co-sponsored colloquium will introduce history and government teachers from the secondary school level to the campaign and presidency of Franklin D. Roosevelt and its consequences for liberty and responsibility. Readings cover the elections of 1932 and 1936, Roosevelt’s relationship with the Supreme Court, and his use of executive power in domestic and foreign policy.
