Heather Velasquez

Teaching American History
Teacher Programs Manager

Heather Velasquez joined Teaching American History as a Teacher Programs Manager for the West Coast in 2022. Prior to that she had been serving the students of California as an educator in Social Science at the Secondary level. During her educational career Heather also served as an educational technology coordinator, AVID teacher, and AP Coordinator and reader, but her primary passion is educating students in history.

Ms. Velasquez is a 2012 graduate of California State University Stanislaus where she studied History and Political Science. She is currently set to complete her Master’s of American History and Government at Ashland University (MAHG) in 2023. Heather is a multiple time recipient of the Golden State Fellowship from Ashbrook. Although the “Golden State,” Heather hails from the dusty agricultural center of California, the Central Valley where almonds and dairy abound, and loves where she lives. She and her husband love to travel always to places of historical significance!
