One-Day Seminar: “Documents and Debates: Dropping the Atomic Bombs” hosted by Phoenix Union High School District (Phoenix, AZ)

The controversy over the use of atomic weapons in World War II did not begin after Hiroshima and Nagasaki were destroyed; rather, a debate raged within the Truman administration and related scientific community before the weapons were deployed in August 1945. Get inside the terms of that debate using original documents from the major camps in order to see – as best as possible – the debate and issues through their eyes. One-Day Seminar: Cold War Foreign Policy, hosted by Phoenix Union High School District (Phoenix, AZ)

March 26 @ 8:00 am - 2:00 pm

Study American foreign policy during the Cold War, from the beginning of the conflict through Vietnam. This program, conducted as a discussion-based seminar, will be based on a set of primary source readings, sent to all registrants in advance of the program.
