Convention Contributions: Broom was present for every day of the convention and spoke several times, but overall played a minor role. William Pierce noted him as “a plain good Man, with some abilities, but nothing to render him conspicuous.”
New Government Participation: After the convention, Broom returned to serve in the state legislature in 1788. He eventually became the Postmaster of Wilmington from 1790-1792. He spent the rest of his life serving various local positions.
