Prior Political Experience: Continental Congress 1774-1776, Pennsylvania State Assembly 1778-1789, Continental Congress 1782-1784 (1783-1784 as President), Pennsylvania Legislature 1785-1787

Convention Contributions: Mifflin was well respected during the convention, but is not known for championing any particular idea or side. William Pierce wrote he is “well known for the activity of his mind, and the brilliancy of his parts. He is well informed and a graceful Speaker.” 
New Government Participation: Mifflin Served as President of the Pennsylvania Supreme Executive Council from 1788-1790. Then, after Pennsylvania adopted a new constitution, he served as Governor from 1790-1799. Finally he served in the state legislature before quickly passing away in 1800.
