Convention Contributions: Peirce was only able to participate in the convention for a limited time before personal matters required his attention in Georgia. During his time at the convention, however, he participated in three debates and argued for a strong federal government, shorter terms and a bicameral structure. He is probably most well known for his notes on the character of the delegates. He declined to officially describe himself, but admitted to being “ambitious.”
