America in 1970s

America in 1970s

The ‘Me Decade’ of the 1970s was more than disco, bell bottoms, and Star Wars. The Vietnam War continued surrounded by violent university protests. The economy will tank midst an oil embargo and energy crisis. Americans were held hostage in Iran for 444 days. Social change will grow in civil and women’s rights and 18 year olds vote. Three Presidents will serve; one will resign in disgrace and two will valiantly try to regain the country’s trust. Join us as we unpack this tumultuous decade.

This program will be conducted as a conversation utilizing primary source documents as he only readings and the Professor leading participants in a conversation.
