Teddy Roosevelt: The Making of the Modern Presidency

‘TR’ is known for his days as a volunteer Rough Rider, governor, a Vice President, and eventually at 42 the youngest US President. A man of principles and ideals, Roosevelt found himself at odds with his own party to see his Square Deal agenda accomplished. His drive and determination won the trust of the American people while breaking up monopolies and championing fairness throughout the country. Join us around the table as we have a conversation about ‘the man in the Arena.’

This program will be conducted as a discussion, utilizing primary source documents as the only readings, and with Professor Jividen facilitating the conversation. Registrants are highly encouraged to read all the documents in advance and come ready with questions. Teachers will receive a Letter of Attendance at the conclusion of the seminar.
