    Applying for Admission

Participation in a graduate-level MAHG course requires admission to Ashland University on at least a non-degree basis. Instructions for creating your application and supporting documentation will be provided on the next page.

    Course Selection

    IMPORTANT NOTE ABOUT COURSE PREFIXES:

Most courses in the MAHG program may be taken under EITHER the HIST (History) or POLSC (Political Science) prefix. The HIST and POLSC course sections are cross-listed, meaning that while the course is listed under two different prefixes it remains a single section with the same instructor, meeting time, location, and start and end dates. Some students in a section will take the course as HIST, while others will take it as POLSC. The curriculum, readings, assignments, and requirements all remain the same. You may choose under which prefix you wish to register.

If you are considering enrolling in our master's degree program, EITHER prefix will count toward degree requirements.

Thinking about becoming qualified to teach postsecondary courses? If you are seeking to become qualified to teach postsecondary history courses, choose the HIST prefix.  Seeking to become qualified to teach postsecondary government courses? Choose POLSC.
