One Day Seminar: The Constitutional Convention hosted by Pepperdine West LA Campus (Los Angeles, CA)

TAH.org and Pepperdine University are partnering to bring another One Day Seminar to California teachers, this time about the Constitutional Convention - the ideas, politics, people, challenges and legacy of the Summer of 1787. Teachers will be provided with a reader of original documents drawn from TAH.org's Constitutional Convention collection, lunch, and a certificate for professional development time. One Day Seminar: The American Founding, hosted by Lodi Unified School District (Lodi, CA)

July 25 @ 8:00 am - 2:30 pm

This seminar will examine the principles of the American Revolution and how they came to define the structure of the American Constitution for the Founding generation. Special focus will be placed on core American political ideals and systems, and the question of how to reconcile these with the institution of slavery.¬†All registrations will be provided with a reader of original documents, sent to them by mail in advance of the program. One-Day Seminar: The Federalist Papers and the Debate Over the Constitution, hosted by the USS Midway Museum (San Diego, CA)

Join area teachers to study the debate over the creation and ratification of the Constitution, with a special focus on Federalist 10, as well as other Federalist and Antifederalist writings. This Seminar will consist of three discussion sessions based entirely in primary documents, facilitated by a university scholar.
