An Old Whig Antifederalist Essays
Published in Pennsylvania, Maryland newspapers, these eight essays argue a number of points, from the author’s concerns over the amendment process, to the assertion that only a small republic can protect individual liberties, and that an extended republic as proposed will necessarily trample on those rights. He also laments the lack of an explicit bill of rights – a ‘defect’ pointed out by many Antifederalists.
