Congress and the Executive Branch
What is Congress’s job, and how is it empowered, by the Constitution, to perform it? How did the Founders envision these powers in action, and how have they evolved over time? How do relations with – and checks between – Congress and the Executive shape policy, politics, and public perceptions? Perfect for American History and Government teachers, this Seminar will provide all participants with new documents and questions for use with students.
This program will be conducted as a discussion, utilizing primary source documents as the only readings, and with the Discussion Leader facilitating the conversation, instead of lecturing or presenting. Registrants, therefore, are highly encouraged to read all the documents in advance and come ready with questions. Teachers will receive a Letter of Attendance at the conclusion of the seminar.
